Fun Polymer Clay project for Kids: Birds and Worms Tic Tac Toe Game
I'm so excited to share this little project of ours! Back when we were spending a bit of time learning about bees I came across the sweetest little tic tac toe game of bees and flowers and knew straight away that we needed to make one too but instead of bees and flowers I wanted to make one with birds and worms since Nixie absolutely loves birds.
Create Your Own Pressed Flower Candle!
Now with spring in the air and more and more flowers beginning to bloom this is the perfect little project to make with the beautiful blooms of spring. Although we used flowers that were given to us for Valentine's day and it was the perfect way to reuse them rather than just throwing them away!
Vegan Gorse Cake: remaking my swedish cream cake!
I am so incredibly proud of this creation! I am not a baker, not even remotely, I have a tendency to burn things or make things melt together when trying to make things vegan but ever since I saw vegan cream at the shops I just had to try to remake my all-time favourite strawberry cream cake. I am Swedish and when I was little this is the cake my mum would always bake for me on my birthday.
Make your own bird nest, the perfect spring activity!
Spring has finally sprung! The birds are singing and using all their energy to build their nests, it seems like everywhere I turn I see a little bird with nesting material in its beak so what better way to honour the beginning of spring than to create your own bird nest!
Weaving with plastic using a cardboard loom!
This is such an incredibly easy project because all you need is a bit of cardboard and some yarn (or plastic bags) and a stick (if you want to make a wall hanging).
Incense Holder
This is currently one of our favourite creations: Our first ever incense holder! I am absolutely in love with how it turned out and Nixie is so incredibly proud of it. I just wish I could place it somewhere in our lounge where we could actually see it instead of having it at the top of the bookcase where it's almost hidden from view...
Our little Bristle Bot
This little bristle bot is our first foray into robots, ok so I know this isn't a robot but it's been fun putting circuits together along with little batteries and making things move and this is a great start to our exploration of things robotic and was completely inspired by a series of books!
Beehive Printing with Bubble Wrap!
Along with making our beehive we also did some super simple beehive prints using bubble wrap! This was such a great little activity and one that Forrest really enjoyed as well. It's perfect for little ones although Forrest did love peeling of the bubble wrap off too.
